Royal Enfield’s new offering, the Guerrilla 450, shares its powerplant with the Himalayan, boasting a liquid-cooled, 452cc ‘Sherpa 450’ engine. It delivers 40hp at 8,000rpm and 40Nm of torque at 5,500rpm, tuned specifically for the Guerrilla’s character with adjusted gearing.
Engine and Chassis -The engine acts as a stressed member within the main frame, similar to the Himalayan, though the subframe is distinct. The front suspension opts for a gaitered telescopic unit over the Himalayan’s USD fork, maintaining a monoshock for rear suspension duties. Disc brakes (310mm front, 270mm rear) with dual-channel ABS ensure efficient braking.
Design and Weight-Weighing 185kg, the Guerrilla 450 is notably 11kg lighter than the Himalayan, owing to an 11-litre fuel tank and smaller 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless CEAT tyres (120/70 R17 front, 160/60 R17 rear). These are the widest tyres ever fitted on an Indian-made motorcycle.
Variants and Display-Available in three variants—Analogue, Dash, and Flash—the Guerrilla offers customization in both aesthetics and features. The Analogue variant features a digi-analogue display with a Tripper navigation pod, akin to the Super Meteor 650. The Dash and Flash variants boast a TFT dash with comprehensive connectivity options, akin to the Himalayan.
Pricing and Competitors-Pricing starts at Rs 2.39 lakh for the base Analogue variant, Rs 2.49 lakh for the mid-level Dash variant, and Rs 2.54 lakh for the top-end Flash variant. Competing in the Indian market against models like the Triumph Speed 400 (Rs 2.34 lakh), Honda CB300R (Rs 2.40 lakh), and Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 (Rs 2.92 lakh), the Guerrilla 450 positions itself as a formidable option in the adventure bike segment.
