Hindenburg Research has hinted at a new investigation in India, sparking guesses about which major company or topic they might focus on next after the Adani Group.
Hindenburg Research, started in 2017 by Nathan Anderson, is known for investigating big companies. After their report on the Adani Group, they’ve hinted at another big reveal about India. Recently, they posted on X saying, “Something big soon India,” which has led people to guess which company they might investigate next.
Hindenburg Research Faces Backlash Over Adani Report, SEBI Allegations, and New Controversies
Last January, Hindenburg Research released a report accusing the Adani Group of running “the largest con in corporate history.” The report came out just before Adani Enterprises was set to sell shares, causing a huge drop in the group’s stock value, which fell by about $86 billion. The group’s bonds also saw a major sell-off.
In June, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) revealed that Hindenburg had shared an early copy of the report with New York hedge fund manager Mark Kingdon, allowing him to make big profits from the information.
Hindenburg responded by calling SEBI’s claims “nonsense” and said the notice was meant to intimidate and silence those who expose corruption in India. Hindenburg also named Kotak Bank in their report for the first time, adding more controversy.
Founded in 2017 by Nathan Anderson, Hindenburg Research is known for investigating big companies. With a small team of about 10 people, they’ve earned a reputation for taking on major corporations.
