Former Mortuary Sweeper Arrested After Viral Video Shows Couple in Noida(Noida Mortuary) Freezer Room; Security Lapses Under Investigation
Sher Singh, a former mortuary worker who was fired, was arrested after a video surfaced online showing a couple in a Noida mortuary with a body nearby. Singh, Parvendra (a cleaner who recorded the video), and Bhanu (a driver who was there) were all arrested. The woman in the video has not been identified yet.
Noida’s Chief Medical Officer, Sunil Sharma, said the incident showed serious security problems. A three-person committee, including Deputy CMOs Dr. Jaisalal and Dr. RP Singh and forensic expert Dr. Rishabh Kumar Singh, has been set up to investigate the situation.
“What was the guard doing at that time?” asked Sharma. He noted that the mortuary also has a supervisor, a doctor, and a pharmacist on duty in shifts. Sharma said they will ask the Noida administration to add more security guards and install CCTV cameras soon.
A complaint was made at Sector 126 police station after the explicit video was shared online. Following this, a case was registered under BNS Section 296 and IT Act sections 67 and 67A. Singh, Bhanu, and Parvendra were taken to court and are now in custody. The police are also checking if there are more videos.
The incident has raised concerns about security at the mortuary. Local resident Mohan warned that if access is not strictly controlled, there could be tampering with bodies and called for urgent action from the government.
