Glimpse of Washington Tour on Green Day

Green Day Launches North American Leg of ‘Saviors’ Tour in Washington D.C.

After a successful European tour, Green Day kicked off the North American leg of their Saviors Tour at Washington, D.C.’s Nationals Park, performing to a crowd of over 41,000. The setlist featured all of Dookie and American Idiot in full, along with tracks from their new album, Saviors. Celebrating 30 years of Dookie and 20 years of American Idiot, the tour highlights the band’s ongoing impact on pop culture.

Green Day’s electrifying set kicked off with the blazing chords of “The American Dream Is Killing Me,” instantly energizing the crowd. Billie Joe Armstrong announced the 30th anniversary of Dookie with a passionate shout as “Burnout” rang through the stadium.

Tré Cool’s thunderous drum solo and Mike Dirnt’s signature basslines riled up fans during classics like “Basket Case,” “Welcome to Paradise,” and “When I Come Around.” A 42-foot inflatable Dookie plane added a dramatic touch during “Coming Clean.”

After performing Dookie in full, the band kept the momentum with hits like “Minority” and “Brain Stew,” and new tracks from Saviors, including “Dilemma” and “Look Ma, No Brains!” Armstrong’s dynamic vocals reflected his early energy.

The set culminated with a powerful performance of American Idiot, highlighted by a politically charged lyric change that resonated strongly with the crowd.

Opening acts for the tour include The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and The Linda Lindas. The Saviors Tour, produced by Live Nation, will continue through the summer and conclude on September 28 in San Diego, CA at Petco Park.
