New Chief Minister In Odisha ,Mohan Charan Majhi was announced by the BJP as the new Chief Minister of Odisha on Tuesday. Following the conclusion of BJP’s legislature party meeting in Bhubaneswar, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh declared his name.
On Tuesday, Rajnath Singh, a senior member of the BJP and Defence Minister, declared that Mohan Charan Majhi would be Odisha’s next Chief Minister.
A prominent tribal figure in the coastal state, the 52-year-old leader is a four-time MLA. Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida will be two deputies, as Singh revealed.
On X, Rajnath Singh shared that he was pleased to announce that Shri Mohan Charan Manjhi has been elected as the leader of the Odisha BJP Legislature Party. The new Chief Minister of Odisha is a young and energetic party karyakarta who will lead the state towards progress and prosperity. He is greatly gratified.
Who is Mohan Majhi :
According to sources, Mr Majhi, a veteran politician from Keonjhar who has won four MLA awards, was successful in his bid for the top job due to his public service and organizational abilities. The youngest of the BJP’s frontrunners, he was also the chief whip in the previous assembly.
It was a tricky decision for the BJP to choose who will be the next Chief Minister after 24 years of Naveen Patnaik’s government in the coastal state. BJP gains 78 assembly seats in the state after it repudiated its support. Mr Deo, a former royal from the state of Patna and BJP member for six years, served as minister in the Naveen Patnamak government until 2009 when the Lib Dem party formed an alliance with Biju Janata Dal. 51 seats were won by the BJP.
