Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film, The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), has been in the news a lot since it was announced. This Tamil sci-fi action movie is directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment. Recently, Thalapathy Vijay and the entire film team visited the home of the late actor-politician Vijayakanth to seek his blessings for their new project.
Reports say that the late Vijayakanth will appear in a cameo role in GOAT, thanks to AI technology. Director Venkat Prabhu got permission for this from Vijayakanth’s wife, Premalatha. In a recent media interview, Premalatha, who is the president of the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), said, “Venkat Prabhu visited our home 4-5 times and spoke with my son, Shanmugapandian. He also asked to meet me. I recently went to Chennai for an election campaign, and we discussed the project. He explained that they want to include a scene with Captain Vijayakanth in the film and sought our permission. He also mentioned that Vijay wanted to meet me in person.”

Director Venkat Prabhu’s upcoming film, GOAT, will be Thalapathy Vijay’s 68th movie before he fully shifts to a political career. The film is set to release in cinemas this September and is expected to feature Vijay in dual roles. The cast also includes Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, and Ajmal Ameer. The movie will have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni, and editing by Venkat Raajen.
Vijayaraj Alagarswami, known by his stage name Vijayakanth, was an Indian actor, director, producer, philanthropist, and politician. He was the leader of the opposition in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from May 27, 2011, to February 21, 2016, and was also the founder and second general secretary of the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK). Over his four-decade career, Vijayakanth acted in more than 150 films and was famous for his roles in movies like Vaidehi Kathirunthal (1984), Amman Kovil Kizhakale (1986), Poonthotta Kaavalkaaran (1988), and Senthoora Poove (1988).
