The former president (Trump )criticizes migrants and attacks Kamala Harris during a discussion that was delayed by technical problems.
On Monday, Donald Trump had a long and heated interview with billionaire Elon Musk. During the chat, Trump talked about many of his most controversial views.
The interview, which was streamed on Musk’s platform X, started with problems. Many users couldn’t watch because of technical issues. Musk said the delay was due to a “massive” cyber-attack, but it wasn’t completely clear what caused the problem.
Trump’s Interview with Musk: Delayed Start, Rant Against Immigration, and Attacks on Kamala Harris
The interview with Trump started over 40 minutes late. When it began, Trump talked about the recent assassination attempt on him at Musk’s request. He had previously said he would only share this story once, at the Republican convention, but he discussed it again, describing it as a “miracle” that he survived.
Trump then shifted to his usual anti-immigration rhetoric, claiming that dangerous people are coming into the country through the US-Mexico border. However, research shows no link between immigration and higher crime rates.
He also attacked Kamala Harris, calling her the “border tsar” and a “radical” Democrat who ruined California. Trump even bizarrely complimented her appearance on the cover of Time magazine, comparing her to his wife, Melania.
The Harris campaign criticized Trump’s comments as extreme and part of his “dangerous Project 2025 agenda.” They said Trump’s campaign is focused on self-serving wealthy individuals who can’t manage basic tasks like live streaming.
Recent polls show Harris leading Trump by a small margin, and she’s doing well in key states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. This shift seems to have unsettled Trump, who has been struggling to challenge Harris as her popularity increases. Trump also made negative remarks about other Democrats and went off-topic on issues like climate change and the Ukraine war.

Trump downplayed global warming, saying the ocean will only rise a tiny bit over the next 400 years. Instead, he called nuclear threats the biggest danger.
Regarding the Ukraine war, Trump said Russia has a long history of fighting and that he could have prevented the conflict. He expressed frustration about the current situation.
Throughout the interview, Musk was supportive of Trump and even offered to help with a “government efficiency commission,” a role Trump joked about Musk’s talent for layoffs.
Almost all of legacy media will trash the Trump conversation, thus driving total listeners probably past 200+ million 😂 https://t.co/44Mhr2hkAu

Trump and Musk have a complicated relationship. Musk voted for Biden in 2020 but recently endorsed Trump and set up a committee to help Republicans. Musk also helped reinstate Trump’s X account, which Trump hasn’t used much. Instead, Trump has been active on his own platform, Truth Social. However, he started posting on X again to promote his campaign and criticize Kamala Harris.
With the election approaching, Trump plans to be more active on X, which could make the already chaotic race even more unpredictable.
